Sidewalk garden near Fitler Square
I set up my easel underneath a tree at the edge of a neighborhood park. Nice summer day. I was fortunate the shadows didn’t move much. It made it easier to capture the way the sun hit the side of the house, and the wonderful sidewalk garden.

Church Street Tree in the Afternoon
A beautiful copper green domed church sits in the middle of this block. I set up my easel in the shadow of the church, looking down the street. This dark green/red leafed tree became the center of the composition. I don’t know how I came up with the colors I mixed. That’s an example of the mystery in painting.
